MyanMar Update from Understand the Times

As we reported a few days ago when the cyclone disaster hit Myanmar, Roger Oakland's ministry Understand the Times has four orphan homes in Yangon, Myanmar, and the welfare of the children and staff at the orphanages was unknown. We are overjoyed to report that Roger has now received emails from the homes, and all the children and workers at all four homes are safe! We are praising the Lord with Understand the Times for His graciousness and mercy to these precious ones. The devastation and loss of lives in Myanmar is staggering, and we pray that many there will turn to the Lord Jesus Christ and accept Him as Savior during this terrible time, where the death toll may rise as high as 100,000 with over a million people now homeless.

We have established the Myanmar Relief Fund. 100% of all donations to the Myanmar Relief Fund go to help the people of Myanmar.

Understand The Times is committed to proclaiming the light of God’s Word in a dark place in these last days. As a discernment ministry, UTT attempts to shed the light of God’s Word on Satan’s deception. But because we’ve had the privilege of seeing many come to Christ, we want the ministry of Understand The Times to be known not just for telling people what is wrong, but also for proclaiming what is right and true. We want unbelievers to know Jesus through the proclamation of His Word.

Being called to warn people about deception in our day is not an easy task. Think for a moment. If someone is deceived and is quite comfortable in his or her deception, when confronted with their error, what will be their reaction? Seldom do those who have been deceived acknowledge the truth and say “thank you so much for warning me.” Instead, they attack the messenger and try to put an end to the message.

At Understand the times we believe that the solution is to simply quote God’s Word. God’s Word is light and truth. God’s Word will shine light into darkness. A small amount of light can make a tremendous difference.
