Psalm Two is set in the context of worldwide rebellion against God and his rule. We find that to rebel against God is useless. The rebels will always lose in the end. God will never abdicate his throne. Any success in the rebel camp is an illusion and, at best, only temporary. Rebellion against God is also senseless. Such rebellion is senseless because God's intentions are only for the highest good. The good news is that God has made a way for all rebels to lay down their arms. There is still time to make peace with God.

Psalm Two tells us how a person can make peace with God: blessed are those who take refuge in the King.
